*PEOPLE: Digital Mortgage Software Company Makes Another Hire
A digital mortgage software company has gone on a hiring spree after its $50 million Series C raise earlier this year.
Cloudvirga, with HQ in Irvine, is putting those funds to use, mainly for marketing. The newest hire: Tim Von Kaenel as chief product officer. He will oversee design, product strategy and go-to-market planning for the company’s growing suite of digital mortgage point-of-sale products.
Von Kaenel has extensive experience with tech start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. Immediately before joining Cloudvirga, he served as in the same capacity at loanDepot, the nation’s fifth-largest retail lender, where he drove technology strategy for the company’s digital mortgage lending platform, mello.
Prior to that, Von Kaenel led startups in the financial services, software and wireless broadcast sectors to several successful spin-outs and acquisitions, as well as two IPO’s.
Von Kaenel co-developed and holds the patents for more than a dozen wireless broadcasting, RFID and information services tools.
His hiring follows on the heels of two other recent appointments: mortgage industry veteran James Vinci was brought on board as EVP of technology and Jesse Decker is the new customer success officer, which means she works collaboratively with the company’s product development and marketing teams.
Cloudvirga’s customer base includes nine of the top 40 non-bank mortgage originators. Cloudvirga has raised over $77 million from some of the country’s top lenders and private-equity firms.
