NEWS: Incubator Joins Forces with UCSD’s Business School

An incubator that started in SD has joined forces with UCSD’s Rady School of Management — with the goal of creating a new generation of fintech startups.

The partnership between EvoNexus, which also has an outpost in Irvine, leverages a recent strategic corporate alliance created along with Royal Bank of Canada and Franklin Templeton to launch a fintech incubator. (See related story here).

The partnership with UCSD Rady will accelerate the development of new fintech business tools and the tech created by its students and alumnae.

EvoNexus has opened the round for fintech startups to apply.

EvoNexus and its partners are seeking startups in areas that include machine learning (a subset of AI); bank/wealth/payment technology’ capital markets tech; cybersecurity; and blockchain.

Startups admitted to the program will be housed in a new, fully- furnished incubator facility provided through EvoNexus and its strategic partners.

Close to 20 companies that have gone through EvoNexus’ SD incubator have founding teams from UCSD.
