*NEWS: Women Founders Honored via Pitch Competition in LA

The Women Founders Network in LA awarded three top prizes to the top finishers at its Fast Pitch competition earlier this month.

First place, with a $25,000 prize, went to the founders of Hakuna Brands, Hannah Hong and Mollie Cha. This startup creates non-dairy, paleo-friendly ice cream

Second place, with a $15,000 prize, went to Inirv founder Akshita Iyer. She also received the “Jr. Judge Award” for an additional $5,000. Inerv created sensors to turn any stove into a “smart” stove.

Third place, with a $10,000 prize, went to Dr. Brite founders Paris Sabo and Pooneh Ramezani. Dr. Brite created teeth-whitening products using plant-based ingredients.

These winners got those amounts in cash. All 10 finalists also received in-kind services, for a total value of $200,000 in services.
